Since 2019, BIA has supported the Pia Università dei Cartai, the Municipality of Fabriano, the Fondazione Carifac and the Fondazione Fedrigoni Fabriano in all the activities of creation, drafting, coordination and promotion of the collective application project of the art of Fabriano watermarked paper to become a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
This was achieved through local research initiatives and coordination activities involving all local stakeholders in order to illustrate the knowledge, stories and traditions associated with the world of papermaking in Fabriano, with the aim of showing that this unique heritage of practices, knowledge and values is a vibrant reflection of an entire community which still identifies closely with it.
