news UNESCO Creative City Biella Communication Working Group: activity updates and future developments
At the end of May, the monthly meeting of the UNESCO Creative City Biella Association’s Communication Working Group took place, providing an operational opportunity for discussion among the organisations contributing to the governance and development of the Creative City’s activities.
The meeting was part of a structured communication strategy coordination process aimed at ensuring narrative consistency, operational continuity, and the growth of the Association’s institutional communication channels within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
In this context, BIA supports the UNESCO Creative City Biella Association in coordinating and developing communication activities, assisting the Working Group and contributing to the definition of strategic storytelling and positioning tools for the project.
The first month of Social Media Management: results and performances
During the meeting, BIA presented the report covering the first month of management of the Association’s social media channels.
The data highlighted positive results and steady growth across key performance metrics, confirming the increasing interest in the activities, projects, and organisations that make up Biella’s cultural and creative ecosystem.
In particular, during the first 30 days of the new Instagram and Facebook communication strategy, the Association recorded a +4.5% organic increase in followers compared to the previous month, alongside a significant rise in reach and audience engagement with published content.
The implementation of a coordinated communication strategy demonstrates the growing visibility of UNESCO Creative City Biella and the strengthening of dialogue with both the local community and the international UNESCO Creative Cities Network through the sharing of news, calls, and initiatives promoted by the network.
Designing new storytelling tools: a podcast about the Biella territory
Another key topic discussed during the meeting was the definition of the next steps in the communication strategy.
Among the upcoming projects is the development of a podcast dedicated to the Biella area, its history, traditions, and the people and organisations that shape its cultural and creative identity.
The podcast is part of a broader territorial storytelling initiative aimed at providing an accessible and contemporary tool to tell the story of Biella through the voices of its key actors and cultural institutions.
A collaborative process among institutions
The Communication Working Group serves as a permanent coordination space for the organisations that make up the UNESCO Creative City Biella Association.
This collaborative work enables the development of a shared vision and an integrated communication strategy capable of enhancing the area’s cultural and creative heritage while strengthening its position within the international UNESCO network.
Through this collaborative approach, communication becomes a tool for cultural governance and territorial development, generating connections among institutions, communities, and local projects.
