news Youth, Creativity, and Innovation: a new meeting for UNESCO Creative Cities in Piedmont
On Friday, September 4, a new meeting dedicated to the project “Youth, creativity, innovation: a new approach for capacity building in Piedmont” took place in Turin, promoted by the Piedmont Region in collaboration with the three Piedmontese UNESCO Creative Cities: Alba, Biella, and Turin.
BIA took part in the day as part of the activities developed for Biella UNESCO Creative City, with which BIA also collaborates in strategic planning and online and offline communication.
The appointment is part of a cross-cutting program of activities dedicated to the training and consolidation of a team of Capacity Building experts, composed of institutional and project representatives from the three Piedmont cities that are part of the UNESCO Creative Cities network.
Capacity Building: building skills and relationships
The ability to build shared projects, develop new skills, and create solid relationships is a central element today for addressing the challenges facing local areas. The project promoted by the Piedmont Region was created precisely with this objective: bringing together different experiences and professional skills, fostering exchange between the UNESCO Creative Cities of Alba, Biella, and Turin, and creating the conditions to develop new forms of collaboration.
The day in Turin was dedicated to team building through exercises, moments of discussion, and shared activities designed to strengthen mutual understanding and build a common language.
A path that demonstrates how collaboration between territories can become a concrete tool of innovation, especially when it puts people, skills, and the ability to imagine new perspectives together at the center.
Three UNESCO Creative Cities, a shared path
Alba, Biella, and Turin belong to the UNESCO Creative Cities network in three different fields of creativity: Gastronomy, Crafts & Folk Art, and Design.
Three different identities united by the desire to use culture and creativity as strategic levers for the sustainable development of territories.
The project therefore represents an important opportunity to bring these experiences into dialogue, enhancing the specific traits of each city while simultaneously identifying shared objectives and tools.
For Biella, being part of this path means further strengthening its role within the international UNESCO network and developing new collaboration opportunities at the regional level, increasing awareness of its heritage of knowledge and history, and the involvement of the community as an essential part of the Creative City.
Co-designing new opportunities for the territories
For BIA, participating in this path means contributing to the construction of a working model based on one of the principles that have always guided its activity: culture and innovation generate value when they become shared processes.
Within Biella UNESCO Creative City, we work to support the territory in developing projects, relationships, and strategies capable of connecting institutions, businesses, cultural entities, communities, and international networks.
The capacity building path promoted by the Piedmont Region represents a further step in this direction.
Building skills, strengthening relationships, and creating a shared vision means preparing today the conditions necessary to face tomorrow’s challenges: a work that starts from people and dialogue between different territories to transform creativity into a concrete resource for the future.
