news Project Management Training: the second session of BIA’s educational program for Slow Food Italy

After the first session dedicated to building a project, the training program developed by BIA for Slow Food Italia continued with a second meeting focused on project management and operational planning.

The session was designed to provide participants with practical tools and methodologies to organize activities, coordinate resources and transform project ideas into structured, effective and sustainable processes.

From project idea to operational management

While the first module focused on the foundations of project design, the second session explored the operational phases that allow a project to take shape concretely.

Throughout the day, participants discussed key project management principles, including the difference between projects and operational activities, the project life cycle, team roles and responsibilities, and workflow organization.

The goal was not only to provide theoretical knowledge, but also to offer tools that could be immediately applied in different professional and territorial contexts.

A practical and participatory approach

One of the most valuable aspects of the session was the strong direct involvement of participants.

After each theoretical explanation, the group took part in practical exercises designed to immediately apply the concepts discussed. This approach transformed the training into a collaborative and operational space, encouraging dialogue between different experiences and stimulating concrete reflection on project dynamics.

During the afternoon, participants worked in groups to develop a project of their own choice from scratch, planning activities, timelines, resources and potential risks. This hands-on exercise allowed them to experience the different stages of project organization and management directly, concluding with short collective presentations of the work developed.

The exchange between groups became an important moment for identifying recurring challenges, sharing different approaches and collecting best practices related to project management.

Project design as a strategic skill

The training program developed by BIA for Slow Food Italy was created with the aim of making project design an accessible, practical and useful tool for professionals working in cultural, territorial and organizational contexts.

Talking about project management means addressing not only the technical management of activities, but also the ability to build sustainable processes, coordinate people, understand contexts and transform ideas into actions capable of generating long-term impact.

The training cycle will conclude on May 27, 2026, with an online session dedicated to the analysis of case studies and completed projects, an opportunity to explore real experiences, applied methodologies and the dynamics behind complex cultural and territorial projects.
